Happy Father’s Day!!!
Kurt and I just finished the Dash for Dads, a 4mi run benefiting Zero–The project to end prostate cancer.
ZERO leads the fight to end prostate cancer, the most commonly diagnosed cancer among men.
By promoting greater awareness of the need for early detection and leveraging public resources for life-saving research and new treatments for those with advanced disease, we will win this fight. Zero’s ultimate goal is to create a life-giving legacy for our sons and grandsons: the first generation of men who are free from prostate cancer – “Generation ZERO.”

A few facts about prostate cancer…
- Prostate cancer affects thousands of lives. More than 180,000 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed each year.
- Men can have prostate cancer at ANY age but more common in men 50 to 65 years old.
- In the U.S., African-American men are more likely to get prostate cancer and less likely to survive.
The best defense: Early detection
The sooner prostate cancer is detected, the better chances are that it can be treated with success. The most common test to detect prostate cancer is the PSA (prostate-specific antigen) blood test.
Dads, we need you to be healthy…
If you are between 50-65 or have a history of cancer in your family–go get tested!
