This is especially true among women. As soon as we get a group of ladies together, someone says “I look so fat lately” or “I really need to lose weight.”

Your girls got your back, right? It won’t be long before the whole group says stuff like this…

“You don’t even look that big.”

“Your clothes still look good on you.”

“You hold your weight well.”

One thing is for sure, women do spend alot more time worrying about how big they are and overall appearance. But we are also one of the fastest growing demographics in the obesity epidemic. Women carry around 25% body fat and men typically 15%. And on top of all that, female hormones convert food to fat a whole lot easier. With all the media bombarding women with unrealistic views of their body–its no wonder why we constantly stress over our weight.

So what should our friends say to help us live healthier and feel good about ourselves too?

  • Uplift your friend but remind them its all about their health.
  • Empower them to start now and not accept being overweight.
  •  Help them set a realistic body image and not compare themselves to others.
